Welcome to the Visual Arts Department
The Visual Arts Department at Altrincham College firmly believes that art is all around us, and that; in all its forms, provides us with the material that society is built upon.
From the clothes we wear and the daily objects we use, to the images we see and the buildings we live in, the products of the visual arts world are absolutely everywhere in our lives, 24/7.
It is our firm belief that the Visual Arts form an integral part of the school curriculum and that every child should experience and enjoy the creative subjects that are the perfect balance for academic subjects in school. Our philosophy is that you don’t have to be the best at drawing to enjoy the subjects but to come to lessons prepared to experience an exciting and broad curriculum in a safe learning environment for all students of all abilities in which they can flourish.
The Visual Arts department is also committed to preparing its students for commercial and vocational careers in a wide variety of media.
