Information regarding internal and external examinations


Mock examinations for Year 11 and Year 13:
January 2023

Timetables for the mock exams can be found at the bottom of the page or by clicking the links.

Year 11: click here for timetable

  • Morning exams will commence at 08:50am.
  • Break: 11.05-11.25am
  • Second exam will commence at 11.30am.
  • Lunch: 13.25-14.05
  • Period 5 as normal (14.05-15.05)

Students must attend form time as normal on arrival at school. Students will then be escorted to the Sports Hall for a prompt start at 08.50am.

If a significant number of students are late to school due to the school buses, the start of the exam will be delayed. 

Students and parents/carers should be aware that these exams are important; it is essential students prepare themselves appropriately, including structured revision and plenty of rest.

The exams will be run as if they were the actual GCSEs with the same rules and regulations [see guidance documents below].

  • Morning exams will start at 09.05am, unless otherwise stated on the timetable.

The exams will be run as if they were the actual A-levels, with the same rules and regulations [see guidance documents below].

External Exams: January 2023

There are a small number of external exams taking place in January for those studying the following vocational qualifications:

  • Business (Cambridge Technical)
  • Creative iMedia
  • Child Development
  • Creative Media BTEC
  • Sport (Cambridge Technical)
  • Music Technology

Exams Information (External)

Before and during public examinations students may also have important internal exams, subject specific deadlines for completion of coursework, and controlled assessments. This information will be provided to students by subject teachers as and when available.

JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications)

We are required to conduct examinations and assessments for general qualifications in accordance with the JCQ regulations* and awarding bodies' instructions. The school is regularly inspected (without prior notification) to ensure that these regulations are being implemented.
