Year 11

Year 11

Year 11 is a milestone year for students in their school life at Altrincham College where they take their final GCSE exams. Therefore, one of the key focuses in the pastoral programme for Year 11 is exams and how students can prepare for these exams to ensure they get the best grades.

We have a variety of guest speakers who come into school throughout the year to give presentations and advice to students about how to best prepare for their exams, giving them revision tips and guidance. Sessions are also held for parents/carers to help support their child throughout the exam seasons.

Students follow a structure in their form time sessions each morning with their dedicated form tutor where not only do they receive guidance for exams, they are able to put some of these tips into practice through activities. We also encourage students to continue to think about career opportunities and this is integrated within the pastoral programme. Students have fortnightly assemblies that over the year cover a wide range of topics that can affect our students in different ways.

Students are encouraged to talk to their form tutor and access any support that school offers during this key year.
