English Revision Resources

The school suggests revision texts for KS4 for both English Literature and English Language GCSE.   Additionally, we recommend that your child has their own copy of the literature texts we read so they can re-read content and make their own annotations for revision.

Which resources can I use to help me?

Key Stage 3:

  • CGP New KS3 English Complete Study & Practice (with Online Edition) 

  • Letts KS3 English Complete Coursebook Collins KS3 English All-in-One Revision and Practice
  • Educake quizzes/challenges (all students have a log on for this)
  • BBC Bitesize website:
    • Look in Ks3, English, Reading – Summarising Material/ Character and Atmosphere and Setting.
    • Look in KS3, English, Writing – Writing to Describe, Creative and Narrative Writing.
  • Seneca
  • Read novels for pleasure and think about how the writer’s language and structural choices choices help to create mood and atmosphere.

 

Key Stage 4:

  • Use all notes from exercise books to help prepare.

  • Educake quizzes/challenges (all students hvae a log on for this)

  • CGP revision guides for the literature set texts
