Make Your Mark 2018

Youth Parliament

Make Your Mark

This year we will be taking part in the annual Make Your Mark ballot! Make Your Mark is the largest consultation of young people in the country and involves young people voting on what government issues matter most to them. Ten topics will be available to chose from on the ballet paper with the five most popular topics going to be discussed by MYP's in their November debate, chaired by the Speaker of the House of Commons and broadcast live on Parliament TV!

Here is a list of the ten topics our pupils will be voting on:

  • Mental Health
  • End Period Poverty
  • Votes@16
  • Put An End To Knife Crime
  • A Curriculum To Prepare Us For Life
  • Support Youth Services
  • Equal Pay for Equal Work
  • Lets Tackle Homelessness
  • Transport
  • Welcome Refugees

Last year's Make Your Mark ballot saw over 950,000 young people, making it the largest youth consultation of its kind in the UK. This year, Members of Youth Parliament have set themselves a target of getting 1,000,000 young people to take part.
