Year 9 Curriculum Evening:
Dear Student/Parents and Carers
Year 9 Curriculum Evening
We look forward to welcoming you all on Wednesday 4 March at 7.00pm for the KS Curriculum Choices Evening.
This evening will provide you with insights into the choices on offer and will help you make the right decisions on the best pathway for you over the next two years. It is therefore very important that you and your parents/carers attend to hear this information and to clarify aspects of the Options Form which will need to be completed.
In addition to this information evening, staff will be presenting assemblies from Monday 24 February to Wednesday 4 March, informing students about their option subjects. Students will also receive an Options Information Booklet, which will tell you all about the subjects on offer and what to expect. The Options Form, on which students then pick their preferred subjects, will be distributed – these need to be submitted on or before Monday 16 March.
There are some other points that you should also consider for your GCSE studies:
- Internal assessments are an on-going part of some examination courses, therefore excellent attendance throughout Years 10 and 11 is absolutely vital.
2. There is a fee for all examinations. The school will pay all of your examination fees on condition that you attend regularly, keep up to date with work, complete all homework and that all assignments are completed by the relevant deadlines. Parents/Carers will be liable for exam fees if these conditions are not met and also if you fail to attend for the final examination, or any part of it.
May I wish you every success as you begin this new phase of your school career and promise that I will personally take a great interest in your progress and development at all times.
Ms K Earle
