Covid-19: Contingency Plan

Latest communication on Coronavirus:

Thursday 12 March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers

Covid-19: Contingency Plan

Further to the message sent home yesterday, the advice from Public Health England and the Department for Education remains that schools, colleges and other educational settings should rema school in open as normal. However, as a school we need to be  in the event of a Government directed  closure.

In the event of schools being advised to close to staff and students, the following contingency plans will be put in place for our students at Altrincham College:

  • Work will be set on Class Charts for students in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12. Teachers have been advised to set an appropriate amount of work for a 2-week absence. Work submitted will be marked in a timely fashion when school re-opens.
  • Work will be sent home on paper for students in Years 11 and 13 as exam preparation/revision tools. This will include past exam papers, exam-style questions and revision exercises. Students may also be directed to online resources.
  • Updates will be sent home via Class Charts announcements and EduLink1 messages; there will also be updates on our school website and via our Facebook page.

If you have any feedback regarding these proposals, or any concerns, please contact school at headteacher@altrinchamcollege.com.

Yours sincerely

Ms K Earle
