Staff at Altrincham College, like so many others, were saddened to hear about the passing of Sir Bobby Charlton CBE.

We were honoured when Sir Bobby officially opened our sports hall back in June 2003. Mr Miranda remembers how Sir Bobby signed his tie, even though he supports Liverpool!

The memorial plaque to commemorate this event can be found at the entrance of the sports hall (pictured above, with Mr Jones and Year 7 student Alfie).
