Headteacher's bulletin 03.09.21

Please read this letter from Ms Earle

Dear Parents and Carers

I hope you and your families had a wonderful summer.

We are really looking forward to welcoming your children back to school next week and hope they are excited about the new school year and all the opportunities which will be available to them again! We are hoping to start up extra-curricular activities very soon in the new term and would like as many students to get involved in the life of the school, outside of lessons, as much as possible.

The building work to replace the roof in part of the school is now well underway and this will continue until February half-term. Parking on and around the school site is therefore limited and I would ask that you bear this in mind if dropping off or collecting your child(ren) from school. Please do not park dangerously or without due consideration to our neighbours by blocking their driveways or garages. Thank you for your patience whilst this essential work is carried out.

Obviously, we are still in a pandemic but the wearing of face masks and the requirement to socially distance are no longer in place in school. If your child/ward wishes to continue to wear a face mask they may do so and will not be asked to remove it.  Attached to the bottom of this page is a letter from Trafford Public Health about Covid and stopping the spread of the virus for your information. LFD testing will be in place for all students next week on the school site and this will be done one year group at a time. Please can I remind you that face masks are still required on all school buses.

I am aware there have been some issues with uniform supplies and therefore I would like to reassure you that if students are missing some items of uniform, do not worry. Please send them in to school wearing a similar item instead for the time being. Form Tutors are aware of this and will bear this in mind when conducting uniform checks.

Thursday 23rd September is our Open Evening 5pm-8pm and we will be holding this in real life! I would be grateful if you could put this date in your diary as students will be finishing school earlier that day. Student tour guides will be asked to return to school later in the afternoon. More details will follow about this.

Also attached is a reminder of the schedule for the start of term; which we shared at the end of the Summer Term.

Finally, a reminder that mobile phones are not allowed in school from next year. Phones must be switched off and put away during the school day (including during breaks and lunches). Phones will be confiscated if seen; please click here to read the letter from Mr Keegan on the school website for more details

I look forward to working in partnership with you this year.

Yours faithfully

Ms K Earle
