Celebrations today as students receive their GCSE results.
Altrincham College celebrated another year of excellent results, with the number of
grades awarded at 9-5 and 9-4 up on last year. There was a buoyant atmosphere as students opened their results, with lots of cheering and tears of joy!
Headteacher and CEO of the Achieve and Learn Trust, Kim Earle, said: “We are proud to share that the percentage of students achieving grades 9-4 has risen again year on year, and our Attainment 8 scores are also excellent.”
There were some incredible individual achievements, including Lola
M who achieved eight grade 9s and two 8s. She said: “I am really happy and surprised as I’ve been feeling scared for the past month! I am going to study A Levels in Geography, Maths and Economics and I am so excited for the next chapter.” Student Asser A also scored eight grade 9s, with one grade 8 and two grade sevens and Ewan M achieved six grade 9s, two 8s and two 7s.
Further success stories include Phoebe B who achieved seven grade 9s, one grade 8 and
two grade 7s. She said: “I am so happy and I want to thank all my teachers! For my next steps, I am going to study science A Levels.” Deputy Head Girl Libby J, who achieved four grade 9s, three 8s and two sevens said, “The past year has been a lot of hard work, but I got more than I needed, and I am really, really happy!”
Ms Earle would like to highlight the achievement of all students – not just those who secured the highest grades. She said: “I am thrilled with the progress that students have made across the board. The results of students with SEND have increased again this year. We are also extremely proud of those who have faced significant challenges this year to achieve such great results. Overall, our results are a reflection of a lot of hard work, and the tailored, individual support for students provided by our dedicated staff.”
We are looking forward to greeting lots of familiar faces in September when students return to join Altrincham College’s Sixth Form to commence A Level and vocational courses.
