Students at Altrincham College Sixth Form celebrated an outstanding set of A Level and vocational results today. Staff are delighted with their students’ achievements, which are the sixth form’s best results to-date in terms of student progress.
Mr Keegan, said, “It’s been a fantastic morning celebrating with our Year 13 students and wonderful to see so many happy faces. These outstanding results are testament to the hard work, determination and dedication of students and staff, and they continue to place us among the top 25% of sixth forms and colleges nationally. This achievement comes shortly after our recent Ofsted inspection where our Sixth Form was judged to be of ‘Strong’ standard. Inspectors praised our ambitious curriculum and the depth and sophistication of students’ subject knowledge, making today’s results even more rewarding for Altrincham College Sixth Form.”
Head of Sixth Form, Mr Mahmood, added: “I am thrilled with this year’s results and could not be prouder of our students. They have shown remarkable resilience over the last two years, particularly throughout the exam period. Whilst it is always sad to say goodbye, we are excited to see what the future holds for them as they move on to a wide range of fantastic opportunities, including university, degree apprenticeships and gap years. We wish them every success.”
Theo, who achieved grades A*A*A in A Level History, Law and Business, said he was “really pleased” that he surpassed the grades required for his first-choice university, University of Leeds, where he will study Law. He said, “I am really looking forward to attending Leeds. I locked in and it paid off! The staff were a large part of this as they pushed me to try my hardest.” Jacob, who has accepted a place at the University of Edinburgh to study English and Linguistics said, “I couldn’t have been happier” and equally happy were students Leo, who has accepted a place at Manchester University to read Sociology, Adham who will read Economics at the University of Nottingham, Lizza who is going to Leeds University to study Midwifery and Leia who has been accepted by the University of York for English.
Whilst we celebrate academic success, we are equally proud of all our students, particularly those who have persevered and overcome challenges to get to where they are today.
