How can I help my child at Key Stage 3?

1. Encourage a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the subject

How can I help my child at Key Stage 4?

1. Ensure your child completes their homework on a weekly basis to a high standard.
2. Help them carefully plan their revision before exams. Make sure they are answering questions and not just reading a revision book.
3. Ensure they have the correct classroom equipment.
4. Support their attendance at any revision sessions after school.
5. According to the UK's Department for Education (DfE), "missing the equivalent of just one week a year from school can mean a child is significantly less likely to achieve good GCSE grades"
6. The key to being able to offer the best support to help your child succeed is being clued up on their academic performance throughout the year.

How can I help my child at Key Stage 5?

1. Sit and talk through what the students have learnt that day and read through homework.
2. Throughout the year, make sure your child keeps various handouts, worksheets, mock tests and answer sheets provided to them by teachers and tutors.
3. Rather than just reading notes, actively engaging with the material through memory techniques and practice questions.
4. Read over class notes often to help retain the information.
