Coronavirus Daily Bulletin

Wednesday 25th March

Wednesday 25th March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

STAY SAFE; STAY AT HOME

I am sure this bulletin will reach several people connected with our school who are amongst the 405,000 people volunteering to help the NHS.  Heart- warming news from the Prime Minister tonight.

Provision in school today has included football, golf, dodgeball, badminton, a scavenger hunt, mindful colouring and board games, as well as time to complete homework. The weather helped of course! Please can I ask that if your child is coming in to school tomorrow, they bring sunscreen with them (I can’t believe I’m saying that in March!)?

A reminder that if your child is unwell, please do NOT bring them into school. If someone in your household has suspected Coronavirus, guidance can be found here:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection

We are hoping to keep school open until Thursday 9th April for the children of key workers/vulnerable children only but after that we will need to close for Bank Holiday weekend and the following week, for a deep clean and some essential maintenance work. During this time, there may be provision in a neighbouring Secondary school which your child can access. The Local Authority are currently trying to get an overview of which schools are open and when, so that there is continuous support for as long as possible. I will update you when I have that information.

The school will NOT open on Monday 20th April for all students as originally stated last week. As you will be aware, the Government has closed all schools until further notice. We will open on 20th April onwards for the children of key workers/vulnerable children only.

An easy-to-read guide to ‘shielding’ yourself or others who are ‘high risk’ has just been released by the Government. You can access it through the link below:

We have received no further information on how families entitled to Free School Meals will access the vouchers promised by the Government. Please be assured that Trafford schools and the Local Authority have this as a top priority and we will let you know as soon as we know.

Finally, if you fancy doing something a bit different with your child (or without!), the British Sign Language association is offering an online Level 1 course free of charge. We are encouraging staff at school to participate also. The link is: https://www.bslcourses.co.uk

Enjoy your evening; stay safe.
