Homework and Homework Club

Helping students extend their learning

Homework Club

Homework is integral to success at Altrincham College, with all of our students required to fulfil their homework obligations in order to consolidate and extend their learning experience.

All students will receive a homework planner to record homework tasks, which also acts as a regular source of dialogue between the school and parents.

Each Tuesday and Thursday evening between 3.20 pm and 4.45 pm, students are invited to attend study support sessions and homework club. Members of staff run these sessions to offer support, to help with homework and classwork, and of course to answer any questions that our pupils have about the subjects they are studying.

Due to the importance of Year 10 and 11, members of staff also run many extra GCSE subject specific support classes after school, which all of our KS4 learners are encouraged to attend, especially if they have any specific queries.

Due to the range of subjects, Key Stage 3 Homework Club and Key Stage 4 Study Support Club are run separately.

For the convenience of our students, the school has arranged two late school buses to run on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4.45 pm to provide a safe journey home for students who stay late for homework club or for extra-curricular activities.
