As part of the Challenge 10 intervention group, students from year 10 were invited to participate in a Higher Education outreach activity at Edge Hill University on Thursday 19^th January.

The visit to Edge Hill aimed to show students different Higher Education opportunities available at College and University, and how completing a Higher Education course can benefit their job prospects.

The day began with a lecture style introduction in one of the universities large lecture theatres. Students then experienced a series of motivational workshops. In the afternoon, students were given a campus tour and were able to see some of Edge Hill’s state of the art facilities. The tour included a visit to the student accommodation village, which allowed students to get an insight into the lives of students living on campus.

The Challenge 10 group will have the opportunity to compare this experience with other Universities over the next academic year.
