If you are considering seeking a place at Altrincham College for your child or if applying for a staff post here, I hope our website can give you a flavour of our school but its vibrancy and ethos can only be appreciated by a personal visit. I hope you take the opportunity to visit the school on our Open Evening or at any other time by making a mutually convenient appointment with the School Office.

As Headteacher, I am very much looking forward to welcoming your family to the school. Children get one chance at secondary education. I am absolutely determined that any child who attends Altrincham College will have an excellent secondary experience. I want our students to leave having enjoyed their time here, having made excellent progress academically, having felt looked after and cared for, having had superb opportunities and leaving as responsible, capable and confident young people. Staff and pupils are proud to belong to Altrincham College.

Altrincham College is an ‘Outstanding school’ (Ofsted February 2008) that has enjoyed High Performing Specialist School status from 2006-2008. Our status as a Specialist School with Arts as first specialism and Mathematics/ICT as second specialism has enabled us to consistently raise academic standards across all areas of the curriculum. Following our record breaking GCSE and Key Stage 3 results for 2007 and 2008, continuing on from eight years of sustained improvement, we have now been invited by the Department for Children, Schools and Families to apply for a third High Performing Specialism.
